Film stars, motion picture cameras and this word…‘action’, have become quite familiar on site lately, with the filming of Pine Gap, a Netflix series to be released later this year.
And, a few of our Holden staff – past and present – are staring as extras in the filming, broadening their CVs to include some ‘extra special skills’.
For those of us who are a tad partial to Netflix screen time, Pine Gap is a political thriller set, of course, at the renowned USA and Australia joint defence facility in central Australia.
The six-part series created by Greg Haddrick and co-writer Felicity Packard and staring Tess Haubrich (Wolf Creek) and Jacqueline McKenzie (Romper Stomper) is said to ‘lift a lid’ on the secrets hidden in one of Australia’s international defence facilities.
The Screentime Production is financed by Netflix and the ABC in association with the South Australian Film Corporation. Filming is just about to wrap-up at the Holden Elizabeth site, as well as various locations across Adelaide and in the Northern Territory. The film then moves into post-production before its release on the ABC in late 2018.
